 | The city of Rome itself is a work of art! You'll earn six credits exploring the city's evolution from antiquity to the present day. Your coursework will include a daily journal, on-site oral reports, and a research paper.

Rome as Museum: often referred to as a museum without walls, Rome is filled with the
full range of museums from traditional to the most contemporary. |

Preservation and Conservation Issues: Rome is home to the International Centre for the
Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property, the only institution of its kind.
You'll visit conservation labs and restoration studios to witness the problems and controversies
associated with these efforts. |

During your program, you will explore common themes as a group, as well as investigate a topic of interest all your own. For example, have you ever wondered what is the actual function of a museum or how have museums evolved throughout history? The answers might surprise you as you witness first-hand the most creative and daring uses of space and modern design in the service of works of art. Are you inspired by the idea of art restoration - taking pieces of priceless art and lovingly bringing them back to their former glory? Then this program will both delight you and open your mind to just how complicated that task can get! Rome dazzles and overwhelms. Let us show you just how much.
 You could spend years living in Rome, the Eternal City, and stillnot see everything. But don't worry - we've worked hard to make sure you get to see as much as possible. Your housing is in the city center, in Piazza Navona, a most lively and accessible part of Rome.
You're never more than a few minutes away from your favorite flavor of gelato (with or without a dollop of whipped cream!) or from some of the freshest panini, pasta, or seafood.
