Imagine a country of juxtapositions—something unique at
every turn, for every taste. Are you an ecologist? Israel
is a laboratory of diverse terrains—a short drive can take
you from a bustling city to a rocky mountaintop or into a
vast desert. Do you love archaeology? The most ancient
relics are here, some under water. Searching for the
meaning of life through philosophy, religion, or
literature? Different cultures, values, worldviews, and
religions combine and recombine millennia of history into
the modern state of Israel.
The University of Haifa is in
Israel’s foremost port city,
a melting pot of high-tech commerce and culture like avant-
garde theater, art exhibitions, and film festivals. The
cosmopolitan mix of communities in Haifa, and nearby Tel
Aviv, means that you’ll find that variety is the spice in
everything from food to clothing to music. Exceptional programs in peace
studies, desert studies, premed, and anthropology - along with a full
roster of regular classes and campus activities - make Ben-Gurion popular
with students from all over the world. But there’s more
to do than gawk at the view as you get into your courses,
particularly the special offerings in Middle East studies,
conflict resolution, religious studies, or the psychology
honors program.

Sheva is in one of Israel’s
biggest cities too, but it’s also in the middle of an
amazing, dunes-and-cacti-style desert. Boasting the best

largest Bedouin market and plenty of shopping malls,
theaters, and dance clubs. Exceptional programs in peace
studies, desert studies, premed, and anthropology-along
with a full roster of regular classes and campus activities-
-make Ben-Gurion popular with students from all over the
world.
