| | | | | | The land of Homer, Socrates, St. Paul, and Alexander, Greece offers experiences rich in mythology, history, archaeology, art, philosophy, and literature. Spend your semester or year discovering two millennia of ancient Greece starting with the Early Bronze Age and ending in the Byzantine period. You'll have the full range of resources available to you including musuems, archaeological sites, and historical collections as you learn more about your new neighborhood. There's no better way to explore the range of diverse cultural and geographic areas of this amazing country.
A member of the European Union, Greece stretches from the tip of the Balkan Peninsula into the heart of the Mediterranean. A thoroughly modern and dynamic country, Greece offers a unique juxtaposition of ancient remains and emerging economic strength. You'll be living in Athens, the ancient and modern capital. In your free time, you'll be close enough to travel to great locations like the Peloponnese, home of both great natural and industrial resources, as well as Olympia, Sparta, and Mycenae; Macedonia, where the Greek Balkan culture is most vividly expressed; and the idiosyncratic island of Crete, deep in the Aegean Sea and home to the Minoans.
