The Office for External Fellowships and Postgraduate Guidance at Rutgers is here to help you find the funding necessary to make your dreams of graduate studies in the U.S. or internationally come true. Dr. Casciato invites Rutgers undergraduates in all four years to visit him in his office (Old Queen’s 108) or call him at 732-932-8269. The staff in this office will guide you through the scholarship process and give you the support you need to be a successful competitor for such awards like the Gates and Rhodes Scholarship. It is never too early to discuss how these opportunities might fit into your future.




Boren Fellowship
Awards may be used for domestic tuition for language study as well as overseas study and research in conjunction with a US graduate program.

Jack Kent Cooke Fellowship
Funds up to six years of graduate study towards any graduate or professional degree in the US or abroad.

Fullbright Grant
Typically supports 9-10 months of independent research in over 130 countries as well as opportunities to pursue a one-year degree, teach English, or work as an intern.

Gates Scholarship
1-3 years of financial support in any discipline at the University of Cambridge. Applicants from any country, except the UK, are eligible.

Marshall Scholarship
Funds 2-3 years of study in any subject area at any institution in the UK.

Mitchell Scholarship
Covers one year of graduate study in any field at any institution of higher learning in Ireland or Northern Ireland.

Rhodes Scholarship
1-3 years of study towards a degree at the University of Oxford, England.

Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship
Provides 1 or 2 years of graduate study in any country in which a Rotary Club is located.

Soros Fellowship for New Americans
Supports 1-2 years of graduate study in the US, but only naturalized citizens or the children of naturalized citizens are eligible.

Truman Scholarship
Covers expenses for the senior year and for the first two years of graduate school for students committed to a career in public service.

Whitaker International Fellowship and Scholarship
Pre-doctoral and post-doctoral grants for study abroad in biomedical engineering.
