You’ll spend
five weeks at Jilin University studying Chinese
language, culture, and traditional calligraphy.
To supplement your course work, there are planned trips to famous sites and cities, such as Beijing, Shenyang, Harbin, Dalian, Chengde, and Chengbai Mountain.

Like that movie-moment when two great
warriors clash in battle, dueling for the fate of the

to be together? China has all the excitement and magic of
the movies, but it’s real.
If the word "China" only conjures up images of the Great
Wall and Giant Pandas, then you are in for a world of discovery
when you travel to the Far East. Here you will discover
everything that China has to offer - from ancient Chinese
architecture to traditional Chinese art and delicious
Chinese cuisine. China is a large and diverse country, with
a lot to explore and Changchun's location in the Standard Mandarin speaking
North makes it an excellent environment to study Standard Chinese.
You can get into this amazing summer program with just a
little bit of previous Chinese language instruction
(approx. one year or the equivalent). Your room on campus provides easy access
to campus facilities and activities, such as Kung Fu and painting, as well as nearby
marketplaces. The only suspense here is how you’ll fit in everything you want
to do and see, so expect to enjoy every moment of this epic adventure!
Changchun, the capital city of the Jilin province, is a relatively young city.
But with an urban population of 3 million people, you will have
no problem practicing your Chinese language skills with the locals.
Changchun is known as the "city of movies" -- it is the center of Chinese
film production and is the home of the Changchun Film Festival. It's the perfect location
to suit all of your interests!
